Propolis: your strongest ally against seasonal infections
One of the most valuable goods that nature has gifted us for shielding the body, stimulating the immune system and treating colds is propolis, the most powerful natural antibiotic.
Propolis is a natural product produced by bees and results from the processing of resins they collect from plants and tree trunks. They enrich it with wax, pollen, enzymes and other substances and use it to sterilize and protect the hive from germs.
What makes propolis so special?
Propolis is a real treasure used for preventive and therapeutic purposes, either as a preparation on its own, or as a component of other preparations, thanks to its antioxidant, antimicrobial, antibiotic, antifungal and antiviral properties.
Its composition is particularly impressive, since it includes over 300 chemical compounds. It is rich in resin (50%), wax (30%), essential oils and pollen, while it contains many elements, such as aromatic substances, sugars, balms, terpenes, heyhyphatic acids and esters, flavones, minerals, vitamins, trace elements and many other ingredients.
The beneficial properties of propolis have been known since ancient times and make it one of the most powerful therapeutic tools for humans. However, in its primary form, propolis contains inert ingredients, allergenic factors, wax and resin that trap its active ingredients, as a result of which it is not possible to absorb them sufficiently by the human body. Therefore, the waxing and cleaning of propolis is non-negotiable in order to benefit from its properties.
